london calling: lfw jewelry

or is it jewellry across the pond?  well no matter how you spell it london fashion week had it and it was good.  really good.  from the runways to the streets, london was teeming with jewelry inspiration of the statement making kind.  london reaffirmed what we have already learned from new york that bigger is better and less is certainly not more.  to me the discernible difference between the new york and london set seems to be in the layering.  in new york we saw a bit more of the pile on and in london one or two great pieces were allowed to speak for themselves.  you will notice that a good portion of the london street style photos below are from in detail, the amazing beanie major's jewelry blog.  her photos from lfw are stunning and what's featured here is only a smattering.  get over there and swoon already.
so between the layered nuance of new york and the smashing statements of london, which is more your style?  my personal style fluctuates between the two.  some days it looks like i just might be wearing every piece i own and other days i'll let a particularly beautiful piece have the spotlight.  if you're struggling to find an answer you'll find tons of london inspiration from both the runways and street style below and you can check my previous post (runway and street style) to put you in a new york groove.

  1. How are you even breathing?

Jewelry's not even my specialty, and I'm seriously sitting here (in my work office..SHHH) doing victory spins in my ergonomical office chair.

First of all, a moment of clothing - indulgence:WHO is louise grey and WHERE can I get that epic ugly Christmas sweater.

I don't know whether I'm a layer girl or a single piecer - mainly because I can't really afford enough jewelry to adequately layer, or enough statement pieces to really make a statement.

Standouts for me? Neon hat with clear plastic earrings, gold jewelry against freckled arms, tmr's crown ring, & matthew williamson's dreamcatcher necklaces.

"bigger is better and less is certainly not more"

    - I always wished I could think differently (manly reppy just declared her new-found love of accessorizing restraint) , but I'm a sucker for the chunky.

YAY for amazing pics here. Need to head to that in detail blog - never heard of it. again, ashamed of my shelteredness.

  2. OMG inspiration, inspiration. I really LOVE that girl with the blond bangs, maroon hat, and cat-eye eyeliner and blingin' earrings. She is just freaking awesome.

  3. It is amazing how powerful accessories are in an ensemble. I forgot who said it but while looking at the photos you posted it reminded me of, "know thyself and adorn accordingly". Accessories really speak who you are.
