party like a lone star

howdy from the road!  molly and i trekked over to austin to try to do our part to keep it weird and to soak in some local culture.  by the end of the weekend molly was y'alling and yeehawing with the best of them.  we started our tour of austin on south congress and obviously fell in love with everything we saw because let's be real, what's not to love?  from the food trucks to the amazing antiques to the vintage mecca that is feathers, it's a goldmine of cute.  the next day we took on burnet road and guadalupe street and we ended our tour with a trip to red bud isle on lake austin where ghosty proved that despite being a city dog she's got some serious swimming chops.  and we did it all in new vintage duds we scooped up along the way.  i've said it once, i'll say it again, it's all about shopping local!

the one and only austin motel.

vintage heaven on earth.  go swoon over what alex wore and their latest additions on their blog!
on me: vintage dress, t by alexander wang camisole, camel leather flats from india, sunglasses from shoe market.
on ghosty: collar and leash from petsmart.

on me: tribal necklace from style queen, kuchi coin necklace from feathers, pamela love cross ring.

on me: close up of the tribal necklace from style queen and the kuchi coin necklace from feathers.  lace bralette from american apparel

on molly: vintage sublime tee, beg jeans from urban outfitters, converse all stars, vintage hat, flower crown from the revival outpost.

secret ghosty.

olympic caliber swimming.

the graffiti says it all, miss you mang!

sadly molly and i had to part ways after austin.  she had to get back to real life and i had to get westward ho once more out on the open road.  i didn't get very far as i decided that our next stop would be san antonio.  blame it on my constant hankering for mexican food.  i showed ryan the sights and tried to instill a little texan pride in him.  after the alamo, some of the best tex-mex in the world, and a little chicken fried steak i think it worked!  next stop, marfa.  gotta keep that texan pride going!

check out the mocs on crockett!

on me: vintage shirt, t by alexander wang camisole, vintage cut offs, oakley frogskins.

on me: tribal necklace from style queen, vintage spanish cross necklace.

epic tex-mex feast from tito's.

chicken fried steak and eggs from lulu's cafe.  breakfast of a champion.  or two or three.

  3. oh my god. AMAZING post. This is such a killer series of photos. Everything I could ever dream of in one road trip. Vintage digs, mushy gushy food and sun. Trifecta of champions.

That. Necklace. Is. Making. Me Drool.

I can't handle how amazing it is. Does it weigh down on your neck? Even so. Worth it. And I'm obsessed with the picture of you in that awesome shirt in front of the cacti (look at me and my correct plural self). So so cute. Great shot too - the color matching is perfect.

Sounds like your trip was amazing, and now I totally want to go on one just like it. This post is so characteristic of your blog and its title and everything! I just love it.
